This American oak barrel had already lived a remarkable life, starting as an ex-Bourbon cask before spending more than four years maturing brandy. Then we took it somewhere completely unexpected, seasoning it with a well-known energy drink for two years before filling it with mature peated Corowa Single Malt Whisky. (Those who know, know.)

The result is a whisky that’s smoky, vibrant and unapologetically unconventional. Maritime peat, charred oak and citrus sherbet are balanced by bright lemon zest, toasted walnuts and an evolving confectionery sweetness that keeps you guessing long after the last sip.

This is what happens when curiosity gets the better of us, this single barrel release is part of our Experimental Series, because the best ideas don’t always come from playing it safe.
